It also has a nice little compartment area in the back to store pens, paper clips, etc. I rarely do reviews because I don't find that products hold up to what they're intended for, but this product warranted a review because I don't want people passing up what could probably cause less stress in their lives! In the field I work in, foster care, I work with many clients and this amazing thing helps me to organize all of their paperwork effectively! I feel as though I've gained at least an hour of my day back since having this because I no longer am looking for each client's paperwork, instead it's all here in one simple spot! **Q: How sturdy are the pockets?**
A: The pockets are sturdy.  The plastic is thick.

**Q: What are the spiral binders made of? Plastic? Metal?**
A: The spirals are made of plastic.  However, they seem very durable.  I love mine and use it all the time.

**Q: How many pages will fit in each pocket?**
A: It holds a lot of pages, but when you fill each pocket with 10-15 pages each, the binder becomes overloaded.

**Q: How thick is the spiral? Could I take folders out and keep the spiral to have only 6 folders?**
A: The spiral is compact -- only 1/2" in diameter.  It is a continuous wind to prevent pockets from falling out so they would be a little difficult to remove.  You could, however cut the dividers out.  There are 12 dividers with a pocket on each side for a total of 24 pockets.  Because it is compact, I personally would leave the unused pockets in.  Hope this helps.
