FAT32 works for both OSes, but has a 4GB size limit per file, so it isn't ideal. You can always install drivers for those other OSes, but that doesn't help when you're sharing files with your friends' computers. Besides, it's kind of a hassle. The exFAT file system is a much simpler option. **Q: Why does Amazon allow companies to sell these drives that don't store 1tb? So far, works really well. ### ⭐ Do note waste your time and money *by N***SS on October 26, 2023* When I first got it, I plugged it into my Iphone to back up my photos. It started and it took forever for a few hundred MBs but okay. After a while it stopped, saying an unkown error had occured. Recently I tried to use it on my desktop and laptop. I formatted it both times but as soon as I started copying files, after few minutes of very slow copying, it told me again that an unknown error had occured. Apparently, this thing looks nice but that is about it.
