Things get much worse in the winter. They have caused me to sell a 4 wheeler because they wouldn't stay out of the clutch housing and it was an hour job cleaning them up every time I wanted to use it.Imagine my horror when my mechanic told me a half-dozen mice jumped out of my 3 year old car when they started working under the hood. I tried a lot of different things to get rid of the mice from the car (mostly scent based stuff), but so far this is the only thing that has worked. This is amazing and worth the money.It worked so well, I got a 2nd one for our grill on the deck. Yes, in the winter, the grill would get infested with mice and meant a long cleanup job every time we wanted to use it. After putting this in there, no more mice. Ever. Again.Here are some things I noticed about this Repeller. Battery life is very good. Batteries would last at least 6 months and maybe more.However, when it got really cold, like below 10 F, it would turn off and I'd have to turn it back on manually.It does make audible noise. When my car hood is closed it is slightly audible sometimes. It doesn't hurt your ears when it's out in the open though, but it would probably be annoying if you had to listen to it all the time. Luckily I only use them in the Winter and am not near for the most part.I have a fat, lazy, non-mouse catching cat and a dog. Neither of them notice it. There are no signs of distress or anything unusual when they are around these Repellers. They may hear it, but it doesn't seem to bug them.I'm going to purchase one or two more for some other areas that mice seem to love - like the garden shed. Excellent product! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Over 3 years using - 100% works *by T***D on January 23, 2021* This, in combination with a spray, 100% solved my field mice problem chewing through wires in my van.I live in the country and field mice are all over the place. I purchased a Ram Promaster, which I converted to a camper about 3 and a half years ago. I have it parked in my driveway near a creek that runs along my property. It was brand new and came with those "upgraded, environmentally-friendly" wiring harnesses that are made out of soy - you know, the ones that mice think are food. Well, I use the van once every couple months, so there are intervals where it just sits. Didn't take long before the field mice found shelter in my engine bay and ate through some wiring harnesses. $800 fix.I bought two of these, secured them to scrap wood and attached magnets to the wood (to make them easily removable). Placed one in on the underside of the hood and the other near the engine bay underside the van. I made a DIY spray of the following: 70% vinegar/30% water. A few drops of liquid detergent, 1/2 tsp white pepper, 2 droplets of garlic oil, 2 droplets of rosemary oil, and 2 droplets of peppermint oil. This combo is pretty close to what you'll find in those "repellent sprays", but by making it yourself will spend about 1/20th of the price. I spray liberally around the van about 1x per month or after a heavy rain.These two remedies combined have worked flawlessly. All of my neighbors said that there was no way to solve for it unless I moved the van offsite or I kept a half-starving outdoor cat near the van at all times. lolI replace the batteries on these 2x a year - Fall & Spring. They might go longer, but that's the routine I've set up and it works.PS- I know this works, because I've had to share this remedy with 2 other people in my neighborhood who had similar problems (since the mice found nothing they wanted on my property!). A mouse had gotten in my hood and bit the electric wires to my steering wheel, so power steering stopped working. So I was desperately looking for ways to keep the rodents out and came across this. I leave the device on my dash and no mice have got in the hood.
