## Description

desertcart.com CELOX is an over-the-counter blood clotting agent that delivers fast first aid care for all types of bleeding--from cuts, scrapes, and nosebleeds to moderate and severe bleeding. CELOX is so effective, it's been proven to work even in the presence of common anticoagulant blood thinning medications--a welcome breakthrough for the 40 million Americans who are on blood thinners and who can suffer from serious bleeding issues.Proven to Be EffectiveOriginally developed to assist military medics, CELOX provides fast, effective first aid for men, women, children and older adults, and it's easy to use even if you have no first aid or medical training. CELOX has even been proven to work in the cold (in cases of hypothermia). This potentially life-saving blood clotting agent is available in three convenient formulas:1. CELOX First Aid GranularPour directly on a wound and apply pressure--it won't sting or burn. Bleeding typically stops within 30 seconds.2. CELOX Nosebleed DressingA small, specially shaped CELOX-bonded pad that can be easily and comfortably inserted in the nostril to quickly stop nosebleeds.3. CELOX Gauze Pads and CELOX Gauze RollPliable gauze bonded with full-strength CELOX granules. How CELOX WorksWhen the active ingredients in CELOX come into contact with blood, they quickly swell, gel, and stop bleeding. CELOX's powerful clotting ingredients work independently of the body's normal clotting processes, and they only gel with the blood they come directly into contact with. CELOX delivers potentially life-saving power as it stops bleeding, reduces blood loss, and in the event of severe bleeding, helps prevent shock.A Must-Have for Every First Aid KitCELOX First Aid products are easy to carry in your purse, briefcase, backpack, gym bag, glove compartment, tool box, or tackle box. Having CELOX First Aid products on hand instantly makes your workshop, garage, car, boat, or home a safer environment.CELOX empowers people to respond more effectively in any bleeding situation. If a bleeding emergency happens, you'll be ready. CELOX is so effective, it helps treat injuries that require professional medical attention, so you can be proactive until professional help arrives. When every second counts, CELOX puts time on your side. What's in the BoxHemostatic first aid product. From the Manufacturer CELOX is a new high-performance hemostatic material. It is a proprietary marine biopolymer designed to control high-volume arterial bleeding without cautery. CELOX is suitable for many applications ranging from deep arterial bleeds to superficial wounds. A clot forms within minutes after pouring the product into the wound. Excess granules form a gelled mass to protect the clot. The gelled material is easy to remove. CELOX does not generate any heat, produce burning, nor does it embed itself into the wound. CELOX works whether blood temperature is 98.7 or 65.4 and it works on heparinized blood. CELOX works independently of the blood clotting factors. The granules are lightweight, packaged in sterilized, sealed packets which are easy and fast to open. CELOX is poured into the wound and held down with gauze for 5 minutes. A compression bandage is then wrapped over the gauze covered wound and patient is transported.Use Celox Gauze or Celox Granular formula on nails that are clipped to close, on cuts, bites and lacerations. Once bleeding is stopped you can better assess the injury and seek medical attention if necessary.

Review: When you NEED it, you NEED it.....and we did.............here's my story........ - Amazing Product - We've had it for a while, but it was always just 'there'. Background info: The Pacific Northwest was snowed in(unusual for us) for a 4-5days and as of a couple nights ago we had 1/2" of ice on everything so we were stuck in. 2 nights ago, we decided to make some puffed pancakes. We like to squeeze lemon on them so I went to the knife block and my favorite knife, a Shun, to slice up the lemon. A side note: Shun, if you don't know what they are, they are flat amazing, but SUPER sharp, they have made me become a knife snob, these are the best I've come across. The knife was dirty, so hand washed it and honestly I wasn't being as careful or safe as should have been and I sliced deeply into my index finger. I'd post photos if I could so you could see how Celox really works. So here's the situation, deep cut, lots of blood. No realistic/safe access to the hospital. Not life threatening as long as the bleeding can be stopped. 1. We assessed it. If it were a normal day, it would have been a 3-5 stitch job. 2. We applied pressure for 5min. - Still bleeding 3. We broke out the Celox and applied and put pressure down for 5min. - Still bleeding 4. Following Celox instructions we re-applied a 2nd time and after 5min. of pressure the bleeding stopped. 5. We called a family member who is a doctor and got his advice which was - make sure it's taped securely closed for a few days so it begins to heal ok, make sure there's no infection, after it is stable and not infected you can apply a bit of super glue to the outer portion of the cut(haven't gotten this far yet). Observations: 1. The Celox didn't hurt AT ALL, I was thinking something a little sting........NOTHING, pretty good when there's that much blood everywhere you just expect more pain. 2. Don't pour Celox over the sink unless you have a paper towel in the bottom of the sink(remember it's a cuagulating product) almost reminds me of gelatin. 3. Once Celox drys, it's pretty rigid, it's almost like having a plastic protective cover over the wound. 4. Celox says you can leave this in place for up to 7days and the doctor said I could just let it absorb in. In my case I chose to remove it 24hours later becuase my finger was swelling enough it felt like it was going to split. 5. To remove the Celox, you just run under luke warm water and rub........it takes some time, but works nicely. 6. After removing the Celox, we closed the wound with a butterfly bandage and rolled one of those finger booties over it for the night so it would ooze all over our bedding. 7. Celox is not an end all be all, but it was perfect for what we needed it for. Which was to stop bleeding and stabilize a wound so we could later re-assess and get to a doctor if need be. I wouldn't use Celox for everything, but it's a tool I would definately recommend having around and I believe this was the perfect showcase of what this product is for.
Review: I actually used it - So 2 days ago I picked up a frozen dog bowl and it shattered in my hand. I didn't feel the cut but I saw some really dark blood coming from my hand. I could tell it was bad, but didn't really look at it. I put a towel on it. Went to the cabinet and got the small celox container (I used about half of it) and poured it on and put the towel back over it. I kept pressure on it for about 5 minutes. There was no extra pain or discomfort from the powder. After a few minutes I took off the towel and found several red areas and a fair bit of dry powder. I blew the powder away and since I was in a rush just put medical tape over the red areas. After about 2 hours I was done running errands and so I applied a Activ-Flex bandaid. I like these because they stay in place for several days. To apply the bandage I cleaned away most of the gel but was afraid if I removed all of it I would start bleeding so I left the wound with some covering it. Today I changed the bandage and cleaned the wound completely. I should probably have gone to the hospital the day I got the cut. Not that I'm going now, but I should probably have gotten stitches. The cut was very deep and about a inch and a half long. I was really surprised at the depth. I would have had trouble stopping this from bleeding with pressure alone and would have reopened it constantly. So what do I feel Celox did? It helped me stay calm. While initially there was a fair bit of blood I knew I had something to treat it. That was important. I knew as soon as it happened that I had a plan. Next it made the blood loss significantly less. I was not going to bleed to death from this wound, but I would rather not have a mountain of bloody paper towels all over. Again calm. It painlessly stopped the bleeding. It actually allowed me to find several spots that I didn't know were bleeding because after applying pressure it was easy to see the areas with the red gel and the dry powder. It allowed me to create a temporary bandage with just tape. It saved me a trip to the hospital. This might not be the best thing, it would probably heal better with a few stitches but I'll live either way. I just finished ordering the 10 pack again. I will put a few more around the house and cars. Hope this helps.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ IT WORKS! Stopped bleeding from a deep cut from a food chopper. In fact, I mentioned that I got a deep gash on that review.
*by S***E on February 3, 2013*

This stuff works. I applied it to a deep finger cut that was dripping blood fast. With Celox and a band aid the deep cut stopped bleeding within a minute or two. This was a deep cut and was bleeding fast and it usually takes about 7 to 10 minutes for me to stop bleeding totally from smaller cuts or scratches and the like. Naturally I wrapped a bandage around tightly but the bandage remains clean and no blood has been deposited on the bandage. 2 hours later after washing dishes I took the bandage off and there was just about 2 drips of blood on the cloth and the finger looks no worse for wear. This is perfect for the accident prone and for all of those "end of the world / apocalypse" types. This is perfect for an emergency kit. Really, you don't need to be accident prone or paranoid in order to need to have this around. You never know nowadays. Having this at home is a little like insurance. This is the stuff they used in battlefields. Side note: About an hour and a half later I removed the bandage and the finger looked fine. A half an hour after I took off the bandage I went and washed my hand. Dumb move. The blood started FLOWING again. I headed back to the Celox, poured more over the cut, pressed down, and put on another bandage and the bleeding stopped immediately. Thank you Celox. I'd have drenched a heap of paper towels if I didn't have the Celox. This is the thing I got cut on: http://www.amazon.com/Black-Decker-EHC650-2-Speed-Chopper/product-reviews/B00005MF97/ref=cm_cr_dp_synop?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=0&sortBy=bySubmissionDateDescending#R2Q82M17IBC2N9 Man the blades are sharp!
