Carry strap goes over your shoulder. I took out the glasses and use the compartments for other necessary items. The knife is worthless. "CANNOT cut anything with it!!" That was a huge disappointment when I went to cut fruit at a party and it barely even dented the lime! Embarrassing to have to ask the hostess for a knife. I replaced it with my own. Bummer cuz it matched the set. The towels are decorative, but not really absorbent.
