I like Kobalt tools because of being able to use the same battery on all of their tools. However, in this case, the drill developed a bad "grinding" noise while using. Research indicates bad gear box or bearings. I've tried contacting Kobalt support by email by the email was returned as undeliverable. I have no idea what caused that yet. Occasionally, a defective tool can be purchased. This was my occasion. This will not stop me from buy or recommending Kobalt tools. I've had this drill for over 5 years, have used it on probably over 100 separate occasions for various projects, and I have never charged it. Seriously, not once. It's insane, but the thing is still going strong. It almost makes me wonder if its battery is some advanced alien technology. It's super portable and strong and has tons of settings. And its battery NEVER DIES. So yeah that's my first ever product review.
