## Questions & Answers

**Q: I normally wear a 14E, I seen where these run big. Think they'd fit?**
A: As far as width goes you should be fine. Treat the leather first before breaking them in and they will mold to your feet. Having large feet myself, the only issue I have with them is the sole is a hard old school vulcanized rubber. Get some good inserts. If you want a softer sole maybe look into something with a vibram sole like Belleville’s.

**Q: I am looking for boots without lining since I think that contributes to Athlete's Foot, are these boots unlined as they were in the military?**
A: This boot does not have a lining.

**Q: Does "Commercial Specification" mean that these are of a lower quality than military specifications?**
A: Great question...The military has long since moved on to different color boots and uniforms...some background....we started selling Altama boots in 1994..this boot is the 7852 model...they had a predecessor 7850 that was government specification. My guess is as the government moved away from this style, Altama maybe changed it a bit to make it more affordable to civilians...We were fortunate to find these about 2 years ago brand new in the box, and bought all 800 pairs...still have a couple hundred left... Hope this helps. Thank you for your business, we sincerely appreciate the opportunity to serve you. Military Uniform Supply, Inc.

**Q: What is the difference between the commercial quality boot and the Mil spec boot?**
A: Great question. We have been asked this several times and have an idea, but no exact data. We sold many, many of the 7850 boot that was listed as military spec. Then, Altama introduced the 7852 and said "made to commercial specifications." The boots did not look any different to us, but we suspect that back then the market for the military spec boot was going away toward the DESERT TAN boot worn with ACUs. There was probably some military requirement that was removed to make this boot more affordable to consumers. Wish we could tell you what it was, but we do not know. We bought these brand new in the original box about two years ago and have had great success with them. Hope this helps answer your question.
