We have a large outdoor compost bin that we check on, but it will be nice to have one in class that we can compare and actually see the decomposition process throughout all stages, EVERYDAY. I absolutely love the fact that it comes with thermometers (mercury free), so that we can record data about how thermal energy is released from the breaking down of the biomass. I would really love to add worms, but I don't think that this would be the best home for them, too bad.
