**Q: Is this made from Palm oil ( that is destroying the orangutans? )**
A: Coconut Palm Sugar is made from the nectar of the flowers on coconut palm trees.  Palm oil is from a different tree the oil palm trees, primarily the African oil palm.

**Q: so when baking do you use this for white sugar or brown sugar?**
A: I use this for all my sugar needs. I love that I can use half of the called for amount and it's still as sweet and that it doesn't spike my blood sugar level. I use it in all my recipes, whether it calls for white or brown sugar. I even whirled it in my spice mill and made some powdered sugar out of it. It works well and doesn't "taste like coconut" to me.

**Q: is this a good substitue for brown sugar?**
A: Yes it is. I love this Product.

**Q: Has anyone used this for making sweet iced tea?**
A: I tried it in hot tea not iced, did not care for it at all. It's fine in everything else but after that I won't try it in any tea again.

This is the only cane sugar substitute that I can use. It tastes the most like traditional sugar compared to every other substitute out there, but with a much healthier profile than cane sugar. I use it for cooking, baking, and in beverages wherever I'd like to reduce sugar content. For baking everything from cakes, muffins, or pies, etc, I use it at a 1:1 ratio in place of sugar and can't tell any difference in taste - so this earns an A+ in my kitchen for all of my baking needs. It's definitely a must-have for baking. A container lasts me a reasonable amount of time, and the price point makes it an economical alternative.
