This resulting biofilm ensures a constantly available, protein-rich food supply, which increases the survival rate of juvenile shrimps in particular and enables healthy development. In addition, the probiotic bacteria in Bacter AE improve the animals' nutrient uptake and regulate digestion.The bacterial cultures contained in Bacter AE Micro Powder are in a kind of "dormant state" and become active immediately on contact with water. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: How much of this should I use in a 2.5g nano tank with <10 neocaridina shrimp?**
A: I use about an eighth of the scoop ever other day in my 10 gallon with 10 Cherry shrimp. Everyone seems to be happy. Hope that helps.

**Q: Do you need to refrigerate after opening?**
A: I do not refrigerate mine and it has been fine.  Just keep it dry.  I have not seen this being refrigerated.  I do not believe it is needed.

**Q: I'm having difficulty opening the jar. The lid only turns halfway before stopping completely. Any help?**
A: Maybe the tracks are off or something. It's just plastic too so you can maybe gently pry it from underneath while trying to unscrew it.

**Q: Will this bring down the tds in an aquarium**
A: Hi, it will increase the TDS in an aquarium.
