The MotoRad 7200-160 Fail Safe thermostat fits various 1960's thru 1990's Ford Small Block applications. It is an alternate temp to the OE temperature. Thanks for the inquiry. **Q: does this come with a gasket** A: No gasket included! **Q: How much more often should you change the oil in a motor running a 160 t-stat? Is optimal temp closer to 190?** A: I put a 160° thermostat in a 1944 Willys MB, and the old boy seems to like it. I see no reason to modify the oil change interval. These newer, modern oils even go longer if you want. I don’t know what you want to put a 190° thermostat in, but many cars require a warmer engine.
