I have curly, dry, damaged hair and wanted something to help with growth. I personally like the minty smell and I like the scalp tingle this shampoo gives. It has a lot of slip, so beware if you are used to or want that squeaky clean feeling - you will not get that with this shampoo. The first few times after using, my hair felt greasy until I realized that for me, that was best used AFTER a clarifying shampoo and a second pass. It does help my hair health and may contribute to helping with growth.
