When the cable that came with my headset crimped beyond use, I looked for replacements and found this one. I learned about the black bands on the 3.5mm jack itself and what they do. I looked at my old cable and saw that there were 4 black bands (or poles as they are actually called) on the end of one connector and 3 on the other end. What i was able to learn is that if you see 4 black bands on the end of your cable, that actually means it is a 5 pole connector. When i bought this, i was 1 pole short on either end which led to a bit of weird connectivity issues. The end that plugs into my headset also did not quite seat all the way into the connector. This cable gets 5 stars because it was my fault the cable didnt work and also the cable is thick, nice quality, and would work as advertised if you were smarter than me. SECONDARY REVIEW: If you have a Logitech ASTRO this replacement cable is exactly what you are looking for. It has in-line volume control and a nice, thick cord. The volume control is easy to use and doesnt turn itself down when it brushes your shirt.
