It is not a bad product fine wheel a little rough initially, but smoothed out after some use. The digital display does not extend numbers as far as some other models. A plus is that it does have numbers on the barrel, good to have if battery dies. I used to own a fowler and it did not have this feature. Bad news is that if jostled it turns and stays on. At least two other people at work have bought one, they seem to like them. Where I work their literally hundreds of people in the shop and all have to know read and use calipers and micrometers. The company has no problems with this product which they calibrate yearly. Required by customers we make parts for. Hope this helps. **Q: does this micrometer have replaceable batteries? I saw others that don't and are disposable, but they were much cheaper and more poorly made.** A: Yes, it does. There is a little compartment on the back for the battery. It comes out easily and the battery says "AG13 BUTTON CELL" on it. The instruction booklet lists the power supply as "one silver-oxide button battery SR44 (1.5V)," which is compatible. **Q: Do you sell replacement parts?
