Sometimes ceilings and walls are not square. 😉 Once I tapped it secure about 5 inches, I check down about 2 feet to see if it's straight. If it is, I pull down the backing about 6-8 inches and pull out a little as I use my other hand to smooth it down. Continue working down the wall to the trim. Run your nail along the trim to see where to cut. Use a box cutter to cut a clean line. It lines up well! Great price,great product! Less than $50 for a nice focal point in the bedroom.
