I didn't learn how to cook growing up, I always was outside working with my Dad. My head under the hood of a big rig and fetching tools. My brothers hated working with him, and I was the only one that loved it. I did learn how to fend for myself with cars and almost anything else. My dad always said that it was good to be a girl, but that girl needed to know how to be self-sufficient. Well, I definitely am that, thanks to him. Oh, and he always made me wear gloves to that I would still have soft hands WITHOUT grease under the nails!!! LOL That being said I have collected cookbooks so that I can fix anything that I want. I love having the digital ones, they don't take up any space. Also having a small family now that the kids and grandkids are grown, having a cookbook is the only way to go in making smaller portions. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Food Served Up In Foil Packets *by D***N on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on September 12, 2020* I received this book for free, thanks to the author, so I try not to be too critical. For a quick recipe book, this is well composed. The book is indexed, has a nice introduction, and individual chapters. There is real information here. Although this is created with the outdoor grill or campfire in mind, I have made several of the main dishes in my oven with perfect results. If you have a camping or hunting trip coming up, the make ahead suggestions will be of real value. Oddly, the ingredients come after the instructions. But, after you read a few recipes, this doesn't matter, and may actually be helpful for plan ahead meals. These are simple, toss in the coals, and go have fun types of recipes. Some contain boxed or canned ingredients but most are fresh, whole foods. The entire family will enjoy the meals because there are no strange ingredients. This book excites me. It stands out and is a must in your collection. I'm a camping addict and love any chance I get to go, but often struggle coming up with meal ideas. That's where Foiled! comes in. Within this book, you'll find breakfast recipes, main dishes (divided into chicken, beef, seafood, and other), sides, and even dessert. PLUS Jess tells you about helpful supplies, cooking at home vs. on a grill or coals, and cooking tips. Recipes that can be made ahead are stamped with a 'make ahead dish' for easy recognition. Plus each recipe comes with a photo... which for me is a serious plus! I made the Italian Sausage & Potato Tin Foil Dinner (pictured on the cover and found on page 36) and it was phenomenal. Not only was it super tasty, but it was quick to put together and the cleanup was even easier.
