Most was easy to remove by vinegar method. But the bathrooms and master bedroom had foil wallpaper.Did the guest bathroom first. They had even wallpapered the ceiling in the bathrooms. There was the heavy duty foil and under it that a heavy duty liner. The top layer peeled off easily but not the rest. Then on half the walls, there must have been a 1/4 inch adhesive left that just would not come off; it was a vinyl residue and from experience I knew this would lead to paint failure if not cleaned off thoroughly. And I forgot to include that we have orange peel textured walls. It took three weeks of steaming, scraping, trying every wallpaper chemical remover plus special adhesive remover before I got it clean. A nightmare!I kept searching for a better way because the master bath and bedroom had the same issues and, even worse, the top layer of foil would not peel off at all except in teeny pieces. Because I had removed the wallpaper around the windows in those rooms earlier, before having my blinds installed, i knew it was not going to be easy. It was going to be a double nightmare.Found Simple Strip through much searching, bought the solution and one pack of their Hydro Sheets. I used my little rotary sander on the foil, which worked really great over the textured walls to scratch up the foil and expose enough of the backing without scratching the wallboard.I wan't sure if the Simple Strip system would work so I decided to test it on a small area first. I used a small piece of paper-and-plastic drop cloth From a painting project instead of cutting up the Hydro Sheet. Soaked the 24-inch square piece in solution and slapped it up on a section of wall. Left it for about 15-minutes and went back to add more solution but found the plastic backing kept the solution from drying out. Didn't need to respray as instructed. Waited another 15-minutes as instructed and started to scrape away the wallpaper underneath. An area that size had taken 20-30 minutes to scrape and clean from around my windows. using this method took 20 seconds and everything including the final layer of adhesive came off with absolutely no effort! The wall was super clean. This stuff is a miracle. The time you wait for the solution to fully work is nothing compared to the time and effort with the standard methods.Some thoughts. I will use the Hydro Sheets I bought but add cheap plastic-only drop cloths cut to size on top of the Hydro Sheets to keep the solution from drying out while it works on the wallpaper. I think the plastic really helped and made it less messy. Also just maintaining a "wet" removal solution on the wall may be all that is needed. If that is true, can save money by using any paper-and-plastic drop cloth (get the heavy duty ones that cost about $6-9 for a two pack of 9x12 sheets that can be cut to size). Only difference is the Hydro Sheets can be reused for a limited number of times, the wet drop cloths will deteriorate with first use once you take them off the walls.
