He was peeing on the dogs bed and being a real jerk to everyone. Seemed he blamed his unhappiness on the dog! I gave him these treats and he got better, but it took several days. I think it has to build up. I was curious so I purchased some L-Theanine supplements and tried it on myself. It made my quality of sleep so refreshing. I felt so rested and less stressed. I assume it works the same for the cat. I found I could not take L-Theanine on a regular basis, it made me a bit dizzy and sleepy after taking it for two weeks. I concluded that it must build up in the body, so I figured it might be the same for the cat. My cat took it (treat or a tiny amount of L-Theanine from a open capsule) for about two weeks and he got over being pissed off. He just needed to calm down and relax. I think the key is to give it to the cat everyday for at least 3 or 4 days, then they calm down and chill out, you can then reduce the dose each day and they are still calm. Great product, made life better at my house. **Q: Where are these made** A: What it says on the package is "Manufactured in the USA with imported and domestic ingredients. " I use them because they seem to work for my cats and my dog. **Q: Are these hard? I just received them and they are so hard my cat can barely chew it** A: The problem with these treats is that they are hard and big. If they were just crunchy little treats, it wouldn't be an issue. But they are more like large bricks about the size of a small cats mouth. Basically two bites for a small cat. BUT BE CAREFUL!! READ THIS REVIEW!!!! *by A***A on July 14, 2017* I gave these 4 stars because they REALLY WORK, I took a star off because they are deceiving... BEWARE: READ MY STORY: I gave ONE of these to my 55 pound doberman mix who is TOTALLY CRAZY in the afternoon the day they arrived with no expectations because nothing calms her down, ever. Nothing happened. The next day, again in the afternoon, I gave her ONE again. An hour later she was drooling uncontrollably, knocking her head into walls and furniture while walking in the house, walking like she was drunk, her tongue was hanging out of the side of her mouth, she would not eat or drink water and was visibly disoriented and confused and distressed. My husband and I spent the entire rest of the day taking turns sitting with her on a blanket outside trying to put water in her mouth and just watching her breathe and sleep to make sure she was "ok". And yes, we considered taking her to an emergency vet. We didn't do that because we know our dog really well, we've seen her on the verge of death sick, injured, terrified, we know her whole spectrum from great to terrible. And we watched her every second until after midnight when she started to come out of the outrageously intense "drugged" state she was in. The next morning she was back to normal. So... how should I end this review? These things worked on a dog who has been given A LOT of natural remedies for fear, anxiety, aggression, reactivity, etc. and showed absolutely no sign of change from any of them. That means that there is an ingredient or combination of ingredients in these things that is REALLY EFFECTIVE. And she is totally fine, it was apparently just too much for her system. It could be that they become more effective if given daily seeing as there was no effect the first day and the second day with just TWO treats in her system she acted like she was on heroin for about 7 hours. I don't think there is anything bad about these, in fact, to be honest, I'm relieved we actually found something that works on her and no, I didn't throw them out, but no, I haven't given her any since that day. They are sitting in her treat drawer, wrapped up tight in a ziplock bag, way in the back, ha! I will keep them on hand for emergency situations. I have also considered breaking off a TINY piece and giving it to her and then watching her closely as an experiment. Anyway that's my story, sorry it was so long, but I know there are a lot of dog moms (and dads) out there who might not have to go through the scary situation I did if they read this first. I'm not saying don't get these, but I am saying be careful with the dosage!! Also I checked out the company and they seem great.
