I did not regret it one bit. It does what it says, I don't have any issues at all, no weird noise or issues. It works as it is designed. I think the other reviews that have issues with noise, their issues are not this unit but their audio source or cables or something. I have used this device on several Amplifiers to be sure it performs great and it does on all of them. If you have the system at full volume and no audio, you do get some weird noise but for what I use this for, I never leave the volume all the way up without audio playing. The first one has problems with occasional popping and crackling. Annoying, but not bad enough to be totally unusable. I decided to buy a second one considering how inexpensive they are. I figured I'd just keep the first one as a backup. When I went to purchase another (less than a week after the first) I see the price had gone up around $5. Same vendor. Hmmm.I bought it anyway and when it arrived all seemed fine at first. The popping and crackling was gone. Then, after using it for about a day the second one started exhibiting a much more serious problem. It would intermittently just cut-out for a few seconds and then usually start working again, Most of the time - but not always. Eventually it would not start working again after it cut-out and I was forced to either reboot it, or press the 5.1/2.1 button on the back to get it working again for a little while.On the subject of the 2.1/5.1 button on the back, the function of it is not explained in the manual (the manual is chinglish and almost useless anyway). Pressing this button seems to do nothing with respect to changing from 2.1 to 5.1 as you would expect.In summary, I returned the second one to Amazon and got a prompt refund. I decided to live with the first one and the occasional popping and crackling.
