Yes, please. Cord quality, we'll see... *by J***N on Reviewed in the United States on August 21, 2022* Good grief! Reversible micro USB, like an Apple Lightning or USB C connector? I don't know why all USB micro cables aren't made this way! This cable - however - doubles down by not only making the micro end reversible, the USB A end is ALSO REVERSIBLE! While this isn't my first reversible USB cable, this is my first purchase from the JianHan Group. What do I think about this cable? Am I tired of my kids beating up USB micro ports because they don't look which way the cable should go? Would I recommend it or buy it again? Read on to find out more.Cable BackgroundFor this review, I purchased a pack of three red reversible USB cables for about USD$10. The cables arrived in a white box (pictured) with an oddly similar "For Phone" logo and phrase (oddly similar to Apple's "For iPhone" certification label). Included in the box were three cables: one 1.5ft, one 3.3ft, and one 6.6ft. The cables were indeed covered with braided red nylon, somewhat shiny (something I may have a concern about, more below). On one end is a reversible USB type A connector, the other end has a reversible USB micro type B connector. It isn't clear (but is highly doubtful) if this cable might work with the much less common USB micro type A. On Amazon, the manufacturer states the cables support 2.4 current (i think they mean 2.4Amp, which they correctly list later in the ad), Fast Charge, and 480 Mbps. The page also lists an "anti-break" design with "armor nylon" citing 10000+ bend lifespan (they advertise 12000+ in another spot of their page).Cable QualityThe cables appear decently well designed and made. The (lack of) strain relief is certainly an area where improvement could be made. As pictured (and as arrived), the cables are lacking flexible strain relief. Without adequate strain relief, the cable could suffer from a failure near the plug, especially if pressure is placed on the cable. To be fair - though - many cables on Amazon lack proper strain relief at the ends. Just keep in mind that if you intend to use these cables on a device while it is charging (for example, a phone) and the cable might be pressed in your hand, a 90 degree cable might be better. Amazon has several 90 degree types that are reversible.The manufacturer advertises a 24k gold plating on the ends. Whatever. I doubt you're buying these to wear as earrings or a necklace. If it is really 24k gold (and not just colored), it won't help on the outside; the inner connectors are what matter and are usually copper. Further, I'm not generally a fan of something conductive that will rub off into a port...like I expect these plated connectors to do over time. Will it matter? Probably not...just not a fan.While the quality of the nylon seems okay, the durability is questionable. The material seems familiar enough to nylon that suffers from small breaks when put under strain, leaving "hairs" of broken nylon threads at points of strain. While I won't know for a while if that assessment is true, it really doesn't matter much in the grand scheme. Considering they were $10 and likely to last as long as any other USB cable, I believe this to not really matter much.Cable UseI haven't put the cables through structured rigorous tests. I can tell you the cables function as advertised. They plug into devices with ease. They do transfer data at a good rate (but I haven't tested for the full 480Mbps rate). They do charge devices. They do get warm, although I can't say if it is "too hot" for a device during use. I recommend you check your device requirements to make sure it won't exceed the cable's (or your charger's) specifications while charging or using. In general, use common sense, for the first charge or two, if it is too hot, don't use it.Lastly, bear in mind that the reversible USB A connector is a double edged sword. While the connector IS reversible, it has a much thinner than normal insulator. The thinner insulator means the cable will fit loose in the port. The looseness could make it vulnerable to breaking and possibly damaging the port or the connecting device. Keep that in mind as you consider your use cases. The reversible micro side of the cable seems to fit tight in the port and was not loose in the devices I tested.OverallThe cables function as advertised. They are reversible at both ends transfer data, charge devices. I've been using them since the day they arrived and it is absolutely smooth and easy to use.
