In my experience, the GRR-Rip Block is different in 2 ways. The Gripper has 4 "heel hooks" that hang over the edge of your work piece to get a better push on the end stock. And it can also be used on its edge (it have been formed with a 90 degree angle) so you can push stock on a router table or to stabilize wood while re-sawing on a band saw (and this is where those hooks really help). But the price of the Gripper is 2-1/2 times the Bench Dog, so the question would be: is the GRR-Rip Blockr twice as good as the Bench Dog. And I would probably say no to that. But the ultimate decision is of course yours. Hope this helped. **Q: What's the difference between the regular push block and the limited edition that is $6.50 cheaper?** A: I'm unaware of any "Limited Edition" GRR-Rip Block. We only make one style of push blocks and it currently is priced at $24.95. This is a tool that will remove some of that. This push block replaces your hand keeping the work piece flat against the table and flush to a fence if you are using one. Even if you have misjudged the height of the bit, you lose a little of the rubber rather than your fingerprints and frankly that rubber seems to hold things better than my hand anyway. It works just the way that it should. The little tabs drop into place to provide lateral stability and pushing power and lock away when not needed.
