My primary uses are for emergency battery bank disconnect and the shunt. My power plant is almost all Victron gear, and this device replaces my BMV 712. The Good: - seamlessly integrates shunt between lynx power in and distribution bus bars. - adds remote on/off switch capability to disconnect the battery bank. - the pre-charge feature prevents BMS on non Victron batteries from disconnecting. - allows DVCC to manage charge amperage to batteries. - 500A capacity is more than needed, with room to grow. - same superior quality and integration I’ve come to rely on for my off grid system. The “Cons” (of using out of spec) - requires the 3pin connector cable as jumper to allow load if not using Victron batteries. (I don’t have Victron batteries and didn’t buy this for its BMS capability.) Misc. thoughts: I was on the fence about buying this for a couple years. Wasn’t sure I could get enough functionality for the cost. Now that I’ve got it, it does more than I hoped (gets DVCC playing very nicely). Huge relief knowing the one emergency stop switch turns off the Multi’s, the MPPT RS, and disconnects the battery bank in case of emergency.
