In my camping career I have never been so satisfied with such an easy to use fire pit. I used normal sized logs and they were totally supported by the pit. Then once I was done I dumped my ashes folded it up, and put it away like it was never there. For campers we know how a fire pit can take a lifetime to cool down. With this above ground setup it cools down faster. One thing I had happen was after my first days use, the heat of the fire caused the nuts to expand larger than the bolts which aren't that large. So when I got home, the entire thing fell apart.BUT, if you are a skateboarder like me or know a skateboarder or just live near a skate shop, just ask them for four skate deck screws and use those in replacement of the original screws and bolts. Not only are they longer and grip better, you can actually tighten them much easier since they aren't tiny. It's a bit weird to set up the first few times but gets easier. There are some small clips that are pretty easy to lose and I would recommend tying them together to help prevent that. It's holds decent amount of fire wood and puts off a good amount of heat to stay warm. It does burn though firewood pretty fast.
