The Visio 29" sound bar is a new addition as the big surround sound system is sometimes too much, and the LG 55 TV speakers aren't enough. To use both sound systems we needed a digital optical audio splitter so that we could run one system or the other, or both simultaneously using our digital audio signal. As Cornelius mentioned in an earlier review of this splitter, be sure to REMOVE THE SMALL PLASTIC YELLOW CAP FROM THE PIN ON THE CONNECTOR, or it will NOT fit into the output jack of your TV set. This is the only digital optical cable device I've ever purchased with a cover over the pin, not that it's a bad thing, but just a nuisance if you're not aware of it. Once the cap is off everything goes together very easily and the result is truly awesome sound in one or both systems. An excellent product. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works as advertised. *by P***T on July 17, 2017* I use this for sending one Toslink source (first a Startech BT2A Bluetooth receiver, then moved to a Sony DVD player) to both a Yamaha AV receiver and separate DAC (TEC TC-7510) feeding my headphone amp. I haven't tried it in reverse, to share one input between two sources, but since it's a purely passive device that may work, so long as only one source is powered on at a time.As with any passive splitter, the amount of light to the downstream components is at best halved, and Toslink's "fat light pipe" design is kind of marginal to begin with (compared to real communications-grade fiber) so try to keep cable lengths as short as possible, and avoid sharp bends. Two three-foot cables worked for me - actually one of the two signals was intermittent at first, but that turned out to be some dust in one of the connectors, and cleared up after cleaning.Everything is made of cheap-feeling plastic, but of course the light doesn't care, and connections fit snugly. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not the best but worth it for sure *by W***N on August 6, 2020* It works good except it's a snug fit so my worries is over time that might cause issues being disconnected over and over.
