I like it because the unit constantly emits the current. Other tens units have a timed shut off. I need it to always stay on. True you cannot control the intensity, but whatever level these units are set on work for me. I am able to wear it under my clothing on my lower back with no problems. If the blinking light bothers you put a piece of black tape over it. Each nite when I remove the gel pads I rinse them under water, shake them off and put them back on the plasic storage pad. It keeps them "hydrated". The gel pads last alot longer that way. Usually the gel pads wear out before the unit. When that happens I buy the "AccuRelief Mini Tens Supply Kit" replacement pads on Amazon. They will work with this tens unit. Unit usually lasts for a good 3 months of 8 hour days. They work for me. I guess like anything it works for some and not others. You'll just have to see.
