Thanks** A: I know this is late response, but this unit does measure amp hours that have gone through the battery, so if I have a 9Ah battery, and it was fully charged. I could get a reasonable idea of how much life I have left in the battery by subtracting the amount of amp hours that have gone through this meter from the amp hour capacity of the battery. I could look at the meter and see that I wasn't drawing the amps I should have and a quick inspection found that one of the power leads was loose. I was so happy I recommended this to a friend. But he got a dud. Had quality issues with one connector. When he tried to get a replacement, Amazon was out of stock so he tried to fix the connector himself. Then when using it, it had other operational issues. But since he had worked on the connector, they wouldn't take it back. So he is stuck with it.
