Incredibly expensive, but U won’t be sorry *by D***J on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on September 26, 2019* I am a loyal customer of Catastrophic Creations and these floating steps are among my favorite pieces. My Bengals trust them. These are sturdy and in the months I had two of them they look great, the sisal rope does not separate or loosen. My two 1 yr old Bengals are hard on their wall furniture. I bought 2 six foot sisal poles from another company and there is such a difference. The Other Company’s sisal ropes separate. Not that Aleksandr cares. But I care. There are two reasons I started bolting kitty play stations to the wall. I only have 1077 sq feet floor space in my condo, but I have 19 ft ceilings. With two adolescent Bengals I had to go vertical. I stopped buying the kits and started designing. I have huge plans for the floating steps but they are incredibly expensive so I am slowly accumulating the number I need, cultivating denial of the total cost. Also, and this is big, I wanted to get rid of the space occupying hideous cat trees. As anyone who’s owned Bengals knows, you have to exercise them and create new interesting places for them to climb or you’re asking for trouble. I have purchased multiple kits from Catastrophic Creations. Now I find it is more interesting to buy individual pieces and add on to what I have. They are well made and you can tell the small company takes pride in their creations. Every few months I add something. Aleks learns what I had in mind immediately and then shows Anastasia.Now that I have a playground bolted to my walls, I can say I would place some pieces differently. My cats are muscular and athletic and run and leap and land hard. They are heavy (both pushing 15lbs) and they pound up and down the wall playground. I’d advise if you have heavyweight cats like my Bengals, stick to bolting to studs. When I didn’t, some pieces came loose. (Did not fall down, I just have to relocate them). ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good quality wall post but not affordable if you want to buy more *by J***N on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on January 20, 2018* I have a small studio apartment and two cats and I've moved from a larger home and feel bad for the smaller amount of space the cats have to explore so I'm investing in items from this company to encourage them to be more active while I'm gone. This was an easy install and is very stable after it is attached to the wall although instructions could be clearer. They give you two types of screws (one is longer than the other) but don't exactly say which size is for what purpose. I just made a judgement call which defeats the purpose of the instructions. It also doesn't say if the washers go on the inside of the tube or the outside, again I made a judgement call. But it's not rocket science so you'll figure it out. For the company, if there's going to written instructions included, have someone who's very meticulous and particular to write your instructions. I read procedures everyday as a chemist and issues like these can cause problems or are just a headache. This is a good quality piece, but $45 is leaning towards outright ridiculous. I only wanted one, but if you wanted to add several to your wall, this is not affordable. Price should be lowered to at least $30, even then it's just pvc and rope. The shorter set of screws are suppose to hold the longer post to the detachable smaller post (The post you see in the picture is two pieces). I didn't screw the two post pieces together because they fit snuggly onto each other. So you can probably skip that last step unless your two pieces are not snug. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Super Highway for Cats *by P***. on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on August 12, 2018* In an attempt to preoccupy our four cats, and provide entertainment for ourselves, we began constructing a cat wall. Hey, we rescued them, paid an exorbitant amount at the vet's, and feed them the good stuff, so time for a little pay back. Good exercise for them, less TV for us, win-win! We have been kinda unorganized, going with whatever looked fun. We have installed stuff, changed our minds because it wasn't working or looked terrible, and have become really good at spackling and touch-up painting. At first I wasn't sure about the post step, but they have very quickly become the chosen way for the cats to navigate around the wall and plant shelf. We have ours about eight inches apart, and descending down at about a 45 degree angle. Our kitties move very naturally up and down the wall using the posts, and we've only had one mishap the first time our big girl tried them. But now it's no problem, and apparently one night while we slept, the cats all discussed it, determined the best practices, and have given the posts their approval. I recommend to anyone considering the posts to go on YouTube and watch the cats run across a line of posts. It's just like that - easy and natural movement for the kitties and safe. Regarding the installation...studs were not where we needed them. After two failed attempts of attaching to the drywall using the hardware provided, we finally got a very sturdy install by purchasing the screw-in type of anchors from Lowe's and using those instead. Now the posts don't wiggle or move at all. Very happy and purchasing more! I love the reaction of family and friends when they walk in and see what we've done, like what the....????
