Assembling it seemed awkward the first time I did it, even though all the parts push into place and are secured with pins, but after a few times I learned to "jiggle" things into place - now assembling it takes less than a minute. Disassembled the components can fit into a duffle bag, It is very light, sometimes instead of disassembling it I just slide it to a corner. The bar can be set at very wide range of heights, though you may have to switch the tubes to position the holes where you want. (You'll see what I mean as soon as you assemble it.) Because it can be set to so many positions the bar can be used for isometric static holds at a range of arm angles - I like to do those after I've finished doing pull-ups or dips. Other reviewers have commented that the stand is wobbly. I agree that it does wobble unless you do your exercises with good form, not swinging and jerking. That said, I weight 210 pounds and don't feel unsafe using it at all. I even sometimes hold myself upside down like the guy in the picture, though sadly my physique is nothing like his. If you want stable or you are overweight, then you should go with steel which I also had, but I took apart and put in storage since it is heavy, take too much space. Though bear in mind that no matter how high you set it, the poles on the sides will remain about 7 ft high, even though the bar itself can be adjusted. So your ceiling should be at least about 7ft to be able to accommodate it (I'd say maybe even 7ft 2" inches to be on the safe side). **Q: how tall is the unit can I put it in a basement with a low ceiling ?** A: I measure it around 82 inches. If you are interested in doing pull ups this shaky mess won't work I suggest either a mountable (best) or door frame pull up bar. I think this company sells a bunch of products similar to this and the reason this is so unstable is because this isn't actually a pull up bar but rather a collection metal bars that they have left over from their other products that have been cobbled together into this "pull up bar".
