You could use a small carabiner to hook the two together. I have a smaller Maxpedition pack, and I had no problem attaching these to the zippers. It helps to have a thin pointy tool to help pull it through. But otherwise easy peezie! **Q: Once you replace and install the new zipper pulls are they firmly in place aka there for good?** A: Yes..They loop back over themselves. They will not come off. For the price of these they are totally worth it, as they are also quite durable. It is so nice being able to identify a zipper and open it so smoothly with a single finger. I recently bought a Nike Elite bag from my sister in law, basically brand new, the only catch is that the zipper pulls were missing and the zippers themselves were quite small and always a small ordeal to find them and then opening while pinching the tiny zipper.
