## Description

Lucas Oil 10008 Power Steering Stop Leak - 12 Ounce

Review: Might save you hundreds of dollars - If your power steering unit is leaking due to your vehicle's age and it has dried-up seals, this product might save you a lot of money. One vehicle in our family is over 20 years old and started developing a leak. After two bottles, we have noticed that the leak has slowed significantly. It might not stop altogether because of how old the power steering unit is, but it's slowed enough that it probably makes more sense to $40 per year on this fluid than $400-800 on a repair or replacement power steering unit. With another bottle, it might even stop altogether. It was worth a try for me.
Review: WORKS LIKE MAGiC - THIS STUFF WORKS. I had a grinding sound from the power steering pump on my 2008 Kia Sedona van. since this is a vane pump I was hearing he vanes making noise and the steering cold was stiff and a little jerky. I emptied out the fluid in the pump as best as I could and replaced it with the Lucas Power Steering stop leak- 12 ounces. fter cycling the steering from lock to lock while slowly at a crawl driving forward, the steering was back to normal, silent and smooth as it should be. I recommend this as a fluid replacement using the procedure I have described here if you experience noise from the pump.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How long does it normally take to stop the leak?**
A: I put the Power Steering Stop in drove 30 miles and back and had no problems. The reservoir was still full and it has been a couple weeks of driving and still no leaking.

**Q: Is Lucas power steering stop leak thick or like regular fluids?**
A: Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak is more viscous than the regular fluid (Dexron III/Mercon or Dexron II). The kinematic viscosity (the ratio of the dynamic viscosity to the density of the fluid) of Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak (according to Lucas Oil's website) at 100 deg C is 45 centiStokes. For comparison, Dexron III and Dexron II both have a kinematic viscosity of 7 centiStokes at the same temperature (100 deg C). Also for comparison, water at room temperature has a kinematic viscosity of about 1 centiStoke. In other words, the viscosity of Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak is more than 6 times higher than Dexron type II or type III. Lucas' instructions recommends to use at most two (12 oz.) bottles, preferably one. Using more than 2 bottles will result in excessive viscosity for the power steering. From my experience, it only works for slow leaks seeping through very narrow gaps, relying on its slightly higher viscosity to stop or at least slow down the leak. The more Lucas you use, the more viscous is the total mixture inside the power steering. In my case, I used one bottle. My car had a slow seeping leak and (the one bottle of) Lucas slowed it down considerably but it did NOT completely eliminate it. I eventually decided to replace the rack and pinion which completely solved my problem.

**Q: lucas steering stop leak,How long has the leaks stop leaking ,weeks months or years.**
A: I used the whole bottle a little at a time over a period of a few months in 2010. Since then I top up the power steering fluid about once a year.

**Q: Will it fit Nissan maxima sl 3.5 2006 model, bank1 ?**
A: I am not sure what you mean by will it fit? It is power steering fluid with stop leak in it. It will fit any model

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This Worked Great
*by F***Y on June 29, 2025*

This stuff really worked! My truck had been sotting for a long time and I think the seals may have been compromised. The fluid was leaking out and I though it may be a line or the rack or the pump. I tried a lesser product first with "stop leak" in it and it all drained out. I have used Lucas Products before like the injector cleaner and always has been a good product. This stop my leak and fixed the whining pump. I would use it again for sure
