It covers hip to hip, one side features a very soft and plush velvet fabric, that prevents ice burn, if you use this side against your skin, you can place the ice pack directly on your skin, and even colder to the touch soft vinyl ( like life jacket fabric- very heavy duty) on the other side, It has an instruction manual that states if you use the ice pack with vinyl side against skin, you should place a cloth between yourself and the ice pack as to not create an ice burn)Belt is aprox 3" wide heavy elastic and velcro, a nice and extremely comfortable adjustable belt to strap it around yourself, no matter where your injury or pain is!I love this! I have problems with my shoulder and it is hard for me to use this wrap without alot of help. Once it is on, it works great and does a good job of applying cold or heat to my shoulders. I have a fairly large chest, male, and the stretch belt that goes around from the back to the front under the opposite arm is very hard to get completely around and fastened. It takes both me and my wife several times to get it to stay. The other wrap hat secures the other end toyour upper arm is also impossible to to alone. It is easier to wrestle 2 cats into a bucket of water, lol.With that said, this product does the best job for applying cold or heat to my shoulders. No more fighting to keep a bag on my shoulder or having to sit still, afraid to move and loose the bag. For me, it is worth the effort to put on. My wife may have a different opinion.
