The cut part is high hardness carbon steel. However, with increasing hardness, it becomes easier to splinter, so a soft iron is applied to hold it. In addition, soft iron causes a shortening of the polishing time when polishing the blade. It achieves an excellent cut with traditional Japanese manufacturing method and lasts for a long time. A typical Western wood chisel is made with a single blade and has reduced hardness to prevent chipping of the cutting edge. When shipping the product, the cutting edge polish has a small particle size and breaks off easily, so must be repolished with #3000 or above before use. The ring is intended for hitting with a hammer, but it is not attached at the time of shipping as it can be pressed by hand. For hammer specifications, press in until the wooden part comes out of the ring and hit the coming out wooden part with a hammer to fix the ring. Przyjechało gotowe do pracy i ostre na razie nie musiałem dodatkowo ostrzyć. Jedynie co musiałem zrobić to poprawnie osadzić metalowy pierścień (katsura) na końcu rękojeści. Przed pierwszym użyciem należy pierścień osadzić na stałe na rękojeści - tego wymagają wszystkie dłuta japońskie. Po przygotowaniu prawidłowo katsury takie dłuto będzie przystosowane są do pobijania młotkiem metalowym.
