Wow. The beacon doesn’t have a switch (but a temperamental button) between search and transmit. It relies on a proximity transmitter. Works great at room temp. In an emergency when you’re wet and cold? It almost always shows an error code then switches to transmit. Maybe don’t tell your skiing buddies your beacon won’t search?Low voltage battery? With a battery less than 10 hours old - low voltage error in cold at temps of 15 degrees FUltimately - this is Pieps next lawsuit waiting to happen. It should be recalled.But hey!
