There is NO back bone in the fabric. Levi’s call it WATERLESS TECHNOLOGY or something or other. Amazon NEED TOO AND MUST EXPLAIN THIS IN THEIR PRODUCT DESCRIPTION. The reason being I have been after the 100% cotton DARK STONE WASH JEANS. . . , but Amazon seem to NEVER have them in stock. 100% cotton jeans are the proper jeans in my opinion NOT these waterless tech jeans. **Q: Are these button or zip fly?** A: No these Orr zip flies and god quality jeans and fit well **Q: Are 505's pre shrunk** A: I'm not sure but they haven't shrunk in the wash at all. They're basically 501s with a zip instead of button fly. I'm old enough to remember when a good pair of jeans had about 50% thicker denim than the lesser ones, but sadly it seems those days are gone, and even the best brands use thinner material nowadays. Still, they have retained the same good cut that they probably always had, and seem to be well finished with none of the loose threads that you get with cheaper clothing.
