They work out perfect for starting seeds in the house. The sturdiness and durability of them don't seem like they would stand up long term, but they actually do have a durability to them! If you are looking for bigger trays these are definitely not what you want to get but if you are looking to just start a few things for home gardening - perfect! The only thing I would give a negativity to would be the cords are not long enough for the lighting. They are all together but cords are only about 12" and it doesnt give you much room to manuver around the trays, so I just started 2 trays at a time and it worked out.
