Installation was easy, no need for a trigger wire because it auto detects the video signal. The only complaint is the power led can be too bright at night. Plan to purchase another one for my other vehicle. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great auto-dimming but sub-par screen contrast and color representation. *by L***G on January 23, 2017* First of all I have to give two thumbs up on the auto-dimming capability of the mirror -- it is a major advantage of this item over many others and that's why I chose it. However, I concur with other reviews that the screen quality is sub-par but what I found is that it is not the brightness that is lacking, but rather the contrast. To achieve high visibility during the day, the screen has to have high contrast AND high brightness at the same time. The screen's color and contrast look dull during the day but okay during the night. Given the price, overall the screen quality can be higher. I would trade the higher resolution of this screen for higher contrast and color representation of many competitors with lower resolution.Also the first item I got from Amazon was defective (air bubbles in mirror) and the buyer gladly replaced it.One thing to add: unlike some other brands, this camera does NOT have a reverse trigger wire so you'd have to use the power (Vcc) wire to the camera to turn on/off the screen. The product itself is good in the sense that the video quality and feed is good. A slight delay for the video to turn on when I put my truck in reverse but still works as expected. Knocked off a star because the written instructions were very unclear for a novice to install. Option gave us 2 ways to connect. We chose option #2 but got a little lost. We ended up calling the number for the guy to walk us through the instructions but at that point he said the easier way was option #1 which kind of sucks because we were at a point of no return. Ended up hooking up most of it but went to Best Buy to have their professionals finish up the final connection (which for my truck is in a panel behind the airbag in the passenger side). Luckily Best Buy gave us a steep discount since we were able to do most of the work. If you're good at installation, get this product.
