    Not As Described, Got Chinese Junk Instead.

Opened the envelope to find a piece of Chinesium junk... Not the "Made in USA" product I was expecting. I am afraid to trust it. We had a similar one that broke and I bought what I thought was what was pictured... instead I received something similar to what broke and nearly sliced off my Wife's finger... not happy.

This is a perfectly fine corer/slicer, and I was happy to buy one that had been made in the US. But a prospective buyer should know that it is very heavy going to slice a large piece of fruit, and if the circumference of the apple exceeds that of the slicer—well, too bad. Best for the older varieties that are moderate in size and whose flesh is a little more yielding.

This works great on medium to small apples, but I got hold of some very large Washington Fuji's a couple weeks ago and it wasn't quite big enough. That doesn't happen very often though. Construction is very good and it is Made in USA. It will work on 95% of the apples you eat. I had an apple and pear slicer that was made in China and the plastic handles broke off. The one Made in USA is all steel. As Tim the Tool Man Taylor would say, "ooh, ooh, aah aah!!!" Jim A.
