Just because a company is run by a family means very little to actual SAFETY to pets or any other creatures. that is marketing. **Q: Has anyone had issues with the product clumping in the package over time?** A: I just used the last of a jug I bought early winter last year and it was not clumped at all. I stored it in my laundry room. Perhaps some moisture got to it? I haven't had any issues. **Q: is this safe for wood decks?** A: It's developed for concrete surfaces mainly... wood decks are pretty sensitive. So, we wouldn't want to guarantee anything.
