I bought this as the wound care clinic was using it on my husbands head wounds from where they removed a melanoma and a large area of skin. This is combined with a prescription medication that helps wounds heal faster. It is also great for treating wounds on its on. It stays in place and doesn’t fall off like other methods of treatment we have used in the past. I might be mistaken, but didn’t hospital’s use to give you the needed supplies for procedures that they performed and charge your insurance? Luckily I have been able to find almost everything that I’ve needed to do his wound care at home here on Amazon. I buy the larger size and use disposable gloves and cut it down into smaller pieces so that it doesn’t get wasted.
