Only 2 things i would change is add zippers to all sides of that mat that way you can customize how your cushions are setup as you may not even want to set it up the same as in the picture. And id also like a much more padded mat on a carpet floor it might work perfectly but i have a wooden floor and so it just doesnt give quite enough padding. The reason i didnt give it a full five stars is because i feel like the pictures don't give an accurate representation of the set. Now this could be because japanese homes are traditionally small. If you have a big living room this is going to feel a little out of place as it's NOT going to take up as much room as youd think. I would recommend get 2-3 if you plan to make it a staple to your living room in an american home. Now i do think it can work as its own stand alone piece as long as its communicated effectively.
