Root Naturally 650g coconut coir bricks are a 100% natural product derived from the by product of harvesting coconuts. The outer husk of the coconut is shredded and pressed into a easy to use brick. When water is added to this brick it expands up to 8-10 times its size. Coconut coir is often used to replace peat moss in soil mixes because it is a renewable resource. Coconut coir can be used in any soil mix to add water retention and soil aeration.

Some reviews seem to indicate gnats. I’ve purchased this twice and one shipment may have had bugs - they appeared out of nowhere. I can’t say it came from the coir. What I can say for sure is that this is a great price and you get a lot for your money.  I mix s soilless growing medium with coconut coir, compost, and vermiculite.

We use this for our composting toilet - it's a great size.  Individually shrink wrapped.  Arrived timely, packaged fine, I think it's a good quantity for the price.  Repeat purchase for us.
