A: Um... it's Universal so yes, it works with every car including your 1985 Jetta.  Mounting is different depending on the car, but the principle is the same and is universal.

Wow! Great product for the price. They work well and we're very easy to install. There is not much in the way of instructions but these are universal and every car is diffrent. If ypu have som knowledge of automotive wireing and a computer to look up your cars wiring diagrams you will be fine. It took me about 1 hour on my 06 Silverado to install, wire and test the unit. It took another 15 mins to hide the wireing and button everything up.
