The original company went out of business, yes, but some of the machines and the method used in their manufacture were sold to Sejongmall, the company I believe is selling this based on the promotions available. They now sell a similar chalk, in my experience, under the Hagoromo name. So it is their chalk recipe and process done by a new company and it is a close facsimile.
