I know it says 6mm up, but has anyone tried it on thin ones?** A: About 48 Inch Manual Tile Cutter，The cutting thickness is 6-15mm. If it is more thinner, it is possible that the knife wheel cannot touch the tiles and cannot be cut. **Q: Anyone use this who have used the Rubi? How does it compare?** A: I have both this tile cutter and a smaller rubi. Not sure if it is due to the size, but my rubi is a much better tile cutter. This 39’ tile cutter bows and flex’s in the middle so I was unable to get a clean snap of the tile. This item was basically worthless to me due to the unclean snap of the tiles. This type with it's single rail has ball bearings to make the cutter run easily when scoring. The parallel shaft type use plastic or bronze sleeve bearings which does not slide as easily. In addition, the parallel shafts can create added friction (resistance when scoring the tile) if they are not perfectly parallel. The single shaft is inherently straight ( provided the mfgr has good quality control). Only issue with this unit is the cheap stamped steel ruled fence.
