Images looked good to me. Was surprised to find so much criticism of inexpensive glass solar filters. When I ordered this 8 inch filter, thought it would be glass also (should have carefully read description). Surprised it was film. Seems to work well and was same cost as 6 inch glass filter. Apparently Thousand Oaks no longer uses glass. Much lighter than glass. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Essential Eclipse Gear *by R***D on April 30, 2017* This is essential eclipse gear.Worth what you pay for it. It fits my Celestron 8" SCT perfectly, with three of pieces of the included felt padding applied. I have not had the opportunity to use it in exceptional seeing, or when there were many sunspots, but under the conditions I have used it, it is perfect. This is my eigth solar filter (one was a 10" glass number) and it is about as good as any of them.BTW, when applying the felt padding (sticky on one side, felt on the other) I applied three pieces 120 degrees apart. If you need more place the additional pieces on top of the first three.
