One batch molded but that was only because I didn't screw the lid on tightly enough. Make sure you screw them on really securely and you'll be pleased. I was very happy that I didn't need to use a weight or bag of water. Since the CO2 pushed all the oxygen out, my un-weighted cabbage didn't mold.
