I prefer a liquid but took a chance on this as it said it could be used as a foundation which is what I wanted. It's far too thick to spread like a foundation ought to. I did you a sponge to apply it but wasn't happy with the results. It went on too heavy and I could feel it on my skin; plus the shade wasn't a great match for my color and tone. It did seem to wear all day and didn't get cakey as some have noted. I also detected a faint odor which became annoying after a couple of hours of wear.
