It's compact and has just the right amount of weight to it. Pretty easy to elicit reflexes with this hammer b/c the weight does most of the work. It's nicely constructed and does not seem like it will break easily. Does not feel cheap. Also, the handle works well for cutaneous reflexes; it's neither too sharp nor too dull. The red and silver looks nice. It's a really good hammer at a reasonable price- what more can you ask for? I will say that the Queen Square hammer is another good option but I think this one works just as well and has the benefit of taking up less space. Either one is a much better option than those crappy Taylor hammers that everyone uses. These are not much more expensive, and it's just nice knowing that if you're not eliciting reflexes with this hammer, it's most likely b/c you either have awful technique or the patient is legitimately hyporeflexic.
