This is a lightweight titanium hammer in name only, it's really a heavy hitter in disguise. Like my Vaughan 19-Ounce California Framer and my Vaughan 99 16-Ounce Professional Rip Hammer, the Dalluge is another well-balanced Vaughan hammer and its hatchet style hickory handle is a perfect fit for me. Hickory is a great shock absorber and makes the 'whaaang' effect on my arm non existent. I like the extra large striker with its milled face and the way the magnetic nail holder grips the nail. Honestly, there's nothing not to like about it.Do I think it's worth the price? Well, let me figure this out. One tube of triple strength analgesic balm runs 20 green ones at our local pharmacy and a doctor's appointment for my neck/shoulder adjustment is 40 smackers - and that's if I'm lucky to need just one visit. So far we're at 60 and I have not figured in time lost in getting the job done. Is it worth the price?
