Simply put, this is the best lip balm on the market! I have become something of a connoisseur of lip balms. I acquired a large collection of different brands while taking a course of Accutane (isotretinoin). Not one of them provided the relief that Lipster did. This review is for the Lipster Original, but the medicated version with hydrocortisone is hands down the best thing for Accutane-induced dry, chapped, and inflamed lips. Since taking Accutane, my lips are still dry enough that I use Lipster Original daily. Every now and then I would try a different lip balm even after initially trying Lipster, just to test to see if Lipster was really providing the relief I thought it was. And sure enough, nothing compares.Another brand that's popular among Accutane users is Dr. Dan's Cortibalm, which also has hydrocortisone like the Lipster Medicated. Like Lipster Original, Dr. Dan's has a nonmedicated version of its Cortibalm. But the brands use very different ingredients, and Lipster is the gold standard. I would give Lipster products 10 stars, and Dr. Dan's products 5 stars. Both provide an adequate barrier for the lips, but Lipster actually seems to provide extrinsic moisture, and it feels smoother and softer on the lips.If you frequently get dry lips, have irritated lips from a medication, or just want a premium lip balm for occasional use, this is it (if they're really irritated, try the medicated version)!I will continue to buy packs of 3 for my use, my significant other, family, and friends.Some designer brands of lip balms sell for much more than this, and they all contain ingredients that can irritate some people's lips, but Lipster comes at much more reasonable price with a truly non-irritating, hypoallergenic formulation.Overall, this lip balm far and away exceeds all my expectations. My son always gets chapped lips because he licks them. He is also super picky because he doesn’t like anything that has a strong smell or tingling sensation. He loves this chapstick! I also love their medicated chapstick, but this is plenty sufficient for day-to-day wear if your lips haven’t progressed to cracked/bleeding. It actually hydrates and does what it’s supposed to, for both adults and kids. I had a 10 yr old, chronic lip-licker, try this chapstick and within two days their lips went from raw to healthy! Why? The product is great and because it’s not made to have an alluring scent/taste, it eliminated the habit. I’d describe it has pretty neutral smelling/tasting.
